These little guys are Premies.

Three boys at 3 oz each

They were born a week earlier than expected.  Doesn't sound like much, but since pregnancy in a dog is 9 weeks long in doggy-time it is about a month early.  We will be watching them closely, and let you know how they progress.

Notice the fine hair on their heads, tiny hairless ears and hairless arms.  They are strong, active, nursing on Mom well, and their lungs are developed. However, they are much more fragile and must be monitored constantly.

"SOLO"

It was touch and go for a few weeks with constant monitoring and round the clock feedings.  We lost one puppy within a week and another lived for two.  We were heartbroken, but thankful to have one survive.  Our remaining pup is healthy and thriving.  We call him "Solo".  At four weeks old he weighs 12 ounces.  Solo is nursing on mom with a lot of vim & vigar!!!  He is an apricot parti color, and has the biggest black eyes full of love. Because he was hand-fed suppliment feedings he loves to be held and cuddled.  He is a real little angel!!!
